I tend to take it easy on Saturday and save Sunday for all those tasks I kept for the weekend. Laundry, weeding and planting in the garden, treasure hunting (pooper scooping) in the yard, and some quick errands filled my day. One of the last things I did was make up the mash my parrots get for breakfast every day. Many people are surprised to hear that a seed only diet isn’t good for birds and could cause liver problems. I feed my birds a mash kind of based on the diet recommended by the Feeding Feathers Group on Yahoo. It includes beans. grains, squash, spinach, carrots, beans and other veggies. You can incorporate most any vegetable and fruit in it. This week’s question is about 1 food item that shouldn’t be fed to parrots at all.
Q: This fruit that is toxic to parrots originated in Mexico. It is the main ingredient in guacamole. Name the fruit.
