Dogs Rule:Write a post, help a dog

My dog WhitneyI had wanted a dog for as long as I could remember in fact one of the first books I remember reading was a story about a little Cocker Spaniel puppy.  I so wanted that puppy.  The need to read as much as I could about dogs got me through all the dog books in the children’s section at that library.  Once I was done there, I read through the dog books in the adult section.  I was so ready when I was finally able to add a dog to my family at 16 years old. And I knew adoption was the way to go. Whitney was the perfect first dog for a dog-crazy teenage girl. She tolerated my attempts at training and learned despite them. She bravely taste-tested my homemade dog treats. I felt so lucky that she was a part of my family.

Whitney wasn’t the only pet I’ve adopted and she certainly won’t be the last.  If you are planning on adding a dog to your life, consider adopting.

  • This year the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a “Fan” or “Likes” The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive on Facebook. So far more than 1  million bowls have been donated.
  • Special for BlogPaws West: For each blog that posts about the PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive through September 19th, PEDIGREE® will donate a bag of their new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide. It’s simple: Write a post, help a dog.
